In 2009, Billie Kay and I were asked by a friend if we were interested in helping out the youth horse association of which her daughter was a member by doing concessions and photography. Since Billie baked cakes and I already took photos of things with horsepower - motorcycles - we said okay! Boy, were we both unprepared!
Technically, there is not a subject much more difficut to photograph than a moving object in very little light with strong back lighting without using flash. Can you say horses under an arena cover with bright sky all around? It has certainly been a learning experience!
